 Mexico
Acapulco still retains its original character, charm and atmosphere that has made it a world-famous resort for decades.  It became a favorite for  tourists in the late eighties and early nineties, and is now experiencing a rebirth.  After the 1997 hurricane that struck Acapulco, the government invested over a billion dollars to rebuild and improve, which has made it more accessible and more pleasant to enjoy.  Acapulco is full of energy and vivacity that never stops, day or night.  If it's the beach party of your life that you're after, then  Acapulco is where you want to be.

Cabo San Lucas is at the tip of Mexico's Baja Peninsula, cut-off from mainland Mexico by the Sea of Cortez (Gulf of California).  This region of Mexico is a real paradise!  Its cool, warm-breezed oceans attracts people looking for relaxation, water sports and golf.  Golf especially, has taken off here with the development of some of the world's finest golf courses.  If you want an upper class resort, that offers luxury, with the opportunity to take part in some water-based fun, golf, or all night partying - perhaps a taste of all these - then Cabo San Lucas could be just the place you're looking for.

Cancun is greeted by over 2 million people annually, and with good reason.  The local environment is stunning, with pristine beaches and perfect sea for swimming and water activities; not to mention that within a relatively small amount of time, visitors can find themselves at the center of some of the most amazing archaeological wonders of the world.  Cancun is a traditional commercialized resort and has a lot to offer every visitor.   If you're looking for some easy fun, a terrific party scene, and spectacular beaches within easy reach of Mayan ruins - consider Cancun.
Cozumel is Mexico's original "Caribbean" destination.  It is located about 40 miles south of Cancun and one of Mexico's largest islands with a total land area of over 300 square miles.  Cruise ships make regular stops here, and as a result of this, the island itself ranks among one of the top 10 most visited tourist places in the world.  Despite its popularity, the island remains tranquil and laid-back with a traditional Mexican feel about it.  During the daytime when the cruise ships are docked, the port becomes quite busy, although at night, when the cruise ships have left dock, the feel of Cozumel changes remarkably.  With less than 5% of the island developed, much of the land is untouched, rugged jungle and quiet, deserted beaches.  Undeniably, Cozumel is a diver's paradise.  If you are a diver, or you want to experience spectacular diving, Cozumel should be at the top of your list for Mexican destinations.
Playa del Carmen was a little, unknown fishing village discovered by the traveler's visiting Cancun and Cozumel and is now one of the fastest growing coastal towns in Mexico.  This area offers you the enjoyment of a simple beach getaway without the trappings and characteristics of a modern-day commercialized resort like Cancun.  The developments here are low-rise buildings giving it more charismatic and authentic Mexican feel.  Playa del Carmen  attracts those who seek comfort...  to swim, sunbathe, stroll along the beaches, listen to bands playing in the open air, and dance at night.  A definite advantage of Playa del Carmen is its geographical location.  It is close to Cozumel, Cancun, and all of the fabulous archeological sites in the area.
Mazatlan is one of the young Mexican party towns of the Pacific coast, but  balances convenience and comfort with economy and good value.  Mazatlan is the northern-most resort on the Mexican Riviera, and one of the busiest commercial shipping ports on the Pacific.  Mazatlan is the shrimp capital of the world with over 40,000 tons of shrimp shipped and processed from here every year.  The coastal resort grows every year, as word-of-mouth spreads about its charms and attractions. Travelers looking for good value in return for their hard-earned money are discovering that Mazatlan offers a great alternative to the more commercialized resorts in Mexico.
Puerto Vallarta is a town that has all the character of traditional Mexican town interwoven with modern comforts of 21st century living - and offers something for everyone.  It's cobbled streets and cathedral set the backdrop in the town, which has a traditional, laid-back feel to it.  There are hotels to suit every taste and budget and the activities are never ending.
